The Barrie Garden Club & Hospice Simcoe partnership really got off the ground in 2012. The Board approved a $5000.00 grant to Hospice, payable in two equal portions in concurrent years
for the purchase of plant material with which to beautify the grounds.
With the assistance of an eager & able crew of Hospice volunteers from their gardening committee, the entire garden under the front windows facing the parking lot was pulled out & replaced with more
interesting flowering shrubs & perennials. (out, out, damn potentilla!!) In the early fall, a similar renovation took place on one of the back gardens< facing the cul de sac off Larkin. The bones of the garden are now in place & will be augmented with additional plant material as it becomes available next spring.
